Maggie Sayers is our master optician, one of only about 450 in the United States. She is also a certified FL optician, holds her American board of optianry and has been in the optical field since 1973. Maggie is the Director of the Treasure Coast chapter of Professional Opticians of Florida. She’ll bring to you her expertise by adjusting your glasses, repairing your glasses, and fitting you with new glasses. She will explain the choices you have in the up-to-date lenses available in the market place today and be sure that not only are your glasses attractive but functional for your lifestyle. Maggie’s German influence in the office is noted by her work ethic and attention to detail which in the end benefits you as a patient.

Debbie Walker is our Optometric Assistant. She has been working in Ophthalmology and Optometry since 1981. She will take your history and do some preliminary testing before you see the doctor. She schedules referrals, assists in coordinating surgeries and will call in any prescriptions you might need to the pharmacy. She follows up after your visit with the doctor to be sure all your questions have been answered. Debbie’s long history in the Ophthalmology/Optometry field shows through her vast knowledge in every aspect of the business. She is the one who will be sure that your visit is complete and every question has been addressed.
FL Apprentice Optician
Connie is our Apprentice Optician. She worked as a Certified Optician over 20 years ago but is now getting re-licensed to go back into the field. Connie will help you to find the right frame and lenses to fit your lifestyle both functionally and fashionably. Connie’s great smile and energy level make shopping for glasses a fun experience. She also helps within our reception area when needed, so you might hear her enthusiasm if she answers the phone when you call.
FL Certified Optician
She has been in the optical world for 17 years doing just about every aspect of opticianry and will bring her knowledge and expertise to you from experience. Alicia will help you to find the frame that flatters, fits and functions perfectly for you. She will use her knowledge to fit you with the best lenses for your lifestyle. She can also adjust and repair your glasses if needed.
Deborah is our receptionist. She is the one who will more than likely be answering the phone when you call and will greet you with her smile when you walk in the door. She takes contact lens orders, checks you in and out for exams and will collect all data needed for your insurances. Deborah has been handling patient’s information for many years as an LPN and knows the importance of keeping it safe and HIPPA compliant.
Dr. Joyce Desrosiers
Dr. Joyce E. Desrosiers graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She did an Ocular Disease Externship at the VA Hospital in West Palm Beach and at the Broward Nova Optometric Clinic. Her Internship was in Pediatrics and Contact Lenses at the Nova Southeastern Optometric Clinic.
Before coming to Vero Beach, Dr. Desrosiers was part of a large Ophthalmology practice in Boca Raton, Florida. She treated eye diseases and co-managed preoperative and postoperative Cataract and Lasik surgeries.
Previous to her career in Optometry she spent 16 years as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician assisting in all forms of eye surgeries, fluorescein angiograms, ultrasounds, fundus photography and all other procedures involved with eyecare. She relocated to Vero Beach and opened Eye Clinic of Vero & Optical Boutique on May 3rd, 2002.
